Free Will and Choice
I have no doubt that all of us understand free will conceptually. Know we have the freedom to make different choices.
Then why don’t we?
Why don’t we make the choices that benefit us? Is it because we believe we do not deserve it?
Why don’t we change what needs changing? Are we afraid? Afraid of what? What are we trying to preserve that appears to be serving our lives, but in reality is killing you?
Why don’t we pursue our dreams, deep desires and live life free from worry, doubt and insecurity?
These are hard and complex questions that are easy to ask, but far harder to answer with clarity.
We have been shaped over our lifetime by many influences, experiences and wounds. Which, in turn, have unconsciously shaped our view of ourselves, our choices and beliefs.
Taking the time, energy and resources to understand the hard/complex questions in life is likely the greatest gift you can give yourself.
The most frustrating thing for me is to watch others settle for something less in their life.
Dreams not pursued. Changes not made. Desires ignored. Worn out from the struggle. Settling.
I see so many struggling for peace, contentment, joy and fulfillment in their work and life.
Trust me, I have been there and your reading this now because I refused to ignore my desires. I refused to give into the traditional thinking around work and life.
I refused to settle for something that appeared to be good from the outside, but tore me up on the inside.
I refused to wait around to live my best life later.
It has been incredibly hard, but very satisfying.
I have been searching a long time for the keys to personal freedom. To be authentically me and pursue my dreams and desires. I have been breaking down the layers of doubt, the layers of false expectations, the layers of past choices and identities.
This is what I have concluded.
The relationship you have with yourself is the most important.
Slow Down! Be present!
Everything is generated from your internal compass. Not just your thoughts, but also you feelings, attitudes and beliefs. Your ability to harness them, understand them, feel them, interpret them and change them when necessary is the key to creating the life you want to live.
Feel Deeply, live deeply – Embracing a wide range of emotions and being comfortable expressing those emotions will free up energy and get you closer to understanding your true authentic self.
Create Clarity, Lack of clarity, Lack of understanding what you really desire is a key barrier to creating the life you want. Surprisingly only a few can clearly communicate their desires, purpose, passion, mission, their why, or fundamentally what they want out of life.
Cultivating a pattern of self-care, along with self – awareness, is a key enabler to creating the life you want.
No Change – No gain. Change – get comfortable with it. Growth is the key to change, so keep growing.
Take responsibility for you dreams. Take REAL responsibility for your life.
Develop self-trust. Trust your heart, trust your gut.
Give yourself a break. Develop a capacity to heal and forgive yourself.
Ask for help. You do not have to go it alone.
Life is an adventure – embrace it with curiosity, joy and delight in creating the life you want.
If you are struggling right now to make a change, you do not have to suffer in silence. You can understand the limiting thoughts, beliefs and choices that are holding you back and keeping you stuck.
You can pursue what you want out of this one precious life you are given.
You can change.
It is possible.

“Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.”
Isn’t it about time to come alive.
